My friend Kit made this excellent salsa for appetizers on thanksgiving – yes the turkey was great too…
6 roma tomatoes, roasted on flame (on a gas stove), peeled and chopped in blender
1 chili pepper, roasted, peeled, seeded, chopped (he used Jalapeno)
½ red onion, chopped
1 tbsp chili powder
Salt to taste
1 tsp agave sirup , as required
Cinnamon, pinch, optional
1/8 tsp cloves, optional
¼ cup cilantro, chopped
In a standing blender blend all ingredients except cilantro. Add coarsely chopped cilantro and serve (with good quality corn chips, meat or fish or whatever you like…)
